Who I am/what I do

I work as a facilitator and marketing consultant. I've a strong background in marketing and am interested in the human aspects of organisations. Some call what I do the "soft" skills... or the "touchy feely" stuff. I prefer to think I can combine a certain amount of business logic with an appreciation of the ability of humans to surprise and amaze us. My work ranges from one-to-one coaching through small teams to conferences of 300 plus participants.

I've worked in the UK, Europe and North America and recent clients have included Johnson & Johnson, National Public Radio, O2, PricewaterhouseCoopers, The Clore Leadership Programme, NESTA, American Express, the BBC and Channel 4.

Collaborations

I'm a founder member of the Applied Improvisation Network and the Medinge Group.

With my friend James Cherkoff, I run Open Sauce Live workshops for marketers getting to grips with the power of networks. James and I are the authors of Co-Creation Rules.

Earlier days

I started my career working as researcher/speechwriter to Lord (Alan) Sainsbury. After that I became a copywriter and then a planner in advertising before starting my own marketing firm in 1988.

Over the last few years, I've done extensive training in psychotherapy and other forms of personal development. This has coincided with my increasing interest in the human side of business and how we can create richer relationships in our working lives.
